Why there is no contact form
A form would mean collecting your details through a third-party service and storing them somewhere. That adds a processor and a database to a site that currently has neither. Email keeps the exchange between you and us, so that is the only channel we offer.
For the same reason there is no newsletter, no account system and no comment section. Everything we hold about a correspondent is the message they sent and the address they sent it from, kept for twelve months after the thread closes and then deleted.
What we cannot help with
We are not a platform, a store or a publisher of the works described on this site. Questions about a subscription, a payment, an account lock, a download or age verification on another website have to go to that website's support, since we have no access to any of it and no relationship with most of them.
We cannot resolve a dispute with a commercial platform, and we do not act as an intermediary in one. Explicit material is not something we supply, host, link to or help locate, and requests along those lines get no reply. Requests involving minors are reported rather than answered.
We are not a treatment service either. Response times
General and editorial mail is answered within one to two working days, Monday to Friday. Corrections are checked against primary sources within forty-eight hours, and confirmed errors are fixed the same day the check completes, with a dated note on the page where the change is substantive. Privacy requests follow the statutory clock: acknowledgement within seventy-two hours, completion within thirty days.
We read everything, including the messages telling us the writing is dry. What we do not do is engage with mail seeking material rather than information, which describes a fair share of what arrives on a subject like this one.
Social accounts
